Summary:

Data Analytics Leader will be responsible for spearheading the strategic direction, management, and execution of initiatives within the Data Analytics Team. The Data Analytics Leader plays a critical role in driving data-driven decision-making, innovation, and competitive advantage for the organization. This person will lead a team of data professionals and collaborate cross-functionally to drive data-driven decision-making and innovation across the organization.

Also will be develop and promote innovative approaches for the use of strategic decision data throughout all levels of the organization, working closely with business sponsors, business subject matter experts and Information Technology to ensure that high business value solutions are planned and executed.

Essential duties/responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to a team of data analysts, engineers, scientists, and other professionals within the Data Analytics.
  • Data Governance: Establish and maintain data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data quality, integrity, privacy, and security. Responsible for implementing processes and procedures to maintain data quality, such as data validation and quality control.
  • Strategy Development: Develop and execute the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Data Analytics aligned with the organization's goals and objectives. As a Data Analytics is responsible for implementing processes and procedures to maintain data quality, such as data validation and quality control. This includes monitoring data sources and ensuring that data is properly entered, stored, and maintained to ensure its accuracy and reliability.
  • Data Architecture: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable and efficient data architectures, including data lakes, warehouses, and pipelines.
  • Automation: Drive automation of data pipelines and reports, which can help build out the data lake and its integrity.
  • Data Analytics and Insights: Drive the development of advanced analytics and reporting capabilities to deliver actionable insights and enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. As an analytics director, you take the lead on all data analytics systems and ensure your department aligns with the company's priorities. You research and develop strategies to improve the analytics of your company.
  • Data Engineering: Lead efforts to collect, process, and transform raw data into usable formats for analysis and consumption, leveraging both traditional and big data technologies.
  • Data Science: Drive the development and deployment of predictive models, machine learning algorithms, and other advanced analytics solutions to solve business problems and drive innovation.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with stakeholders across departments to understand their data needs and requirements, and ensure that Data Analytics initiatives are aligned with business priorities.
  • Change Management: Drive cultural change and foster a data-driven mindset across the organization through training, communication, and advocacy.
  • Performance Measurement: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and impact of Data Analytics initiatives, and continuously optimize processes and resources accordingly.

Required job skills:

  • Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with teams that communicate asynchronously.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with geographically distributed teams.
  • Strong skill in “managing managers” in technical leadership roles.
  • Knowledge of modern product development practices, including Agile / SAFe.
  • A self-directed leader who takes complete ownership.
  • Strong collaborative skills across the global teams and the India teams.
  • Proven track record on designing/ refactoring of Data platforms, visualization tools.
  • Deep understanding of data management principles, techniques, and best practices, including data governance, data modelling, ETL processes, and data quality management and tools like Collibra or Alation, data Cataloguing (E.g., AWS Glue) , WS AppFlow, Workato, Snowflake, etc.
  • Proficiency in data analytics, visualization, and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Experience working with Data lake / Data warehouse platforms like Amazon S3, Snowflake
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to translate business needs into data solutions that drive tangible results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience working with cloud-based technologies (e.g., AWS, GCP, Kafka) and big data platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is an advantage.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience (15+years) in a leadership role within a data-driven organization, with a track record of successfully building and leading high-performing teams.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in education, healthcare, or other highly regulated industry.
