Summary:
As a QA Manager in our organization, you will provide leadership, guidance, mentorship, and testing
solutions across your team. You will evangelize and implement efficient software testing solutions and
oversee the Quality Automation effort of your team and will collaborate with other QA Managers and
senior leads. You will assist in finding efficiency gains to improve our release cycle leveraging
automation and tooling as well as promote a collaborative working relationship with your peers in
development, product management, and PMO.
Essential duties/responsibilities:
1. Develop and manage the QA process of a QA team of about 4 - 6 team members that exemplifies
peak efficiency and maintains the highest product quality.
2. Work with your leadership team and Senior QA's to build and implement automation test
frameworks, automated test cases, and quality initiatives that contribute to productivity
improvements, incident reduction and best practices.
3. Oversee and deliver test automation solutions to uncover any problems related to any aspect of the
system/environment under test.
4. Develop and Support CA’s always learning ecosystem by mentoring Senior Quality Automation
team members. Develop a learning path that can be supported and engaged by all members of your
staff.
5. Participate in the hiring process for your team and other teams. Provides feedback on how
candidates can best be used within the organization.
6. Design and Develop data sets to identify key metrics to be able to measure the testing workflow
across your teams. Utilize these metrics to identify and triage gaps in tooling and test development.
Guide and direct the team through the completion of identified solutions.
7. Create and oversee the development of Quality test frameworks, as well as more general QA
procedural documentation which can be implemented across the QA organization.
8. Assist in designing, coordinating, and implementing 1 year QA plan as it pertains to the individuals
on your team and their learning path.
9. Drive and communicate the mid-year and annual employee review process, as well as the
development of annual goals within your organization by working with your management team to
evaluate next steps, promotion opportunities, and areas of corrective actions for each of your team
members.
10. Stay current on QA trends, best practices, and technologies related to backend, API layer, frontend
testing, and AI. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational
workshops.
Required Job Skills and Abilities: 1. Proven experience in leading a highly performing Quality Engineering team within an agile culture. 2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) with experience in working with and contributing to a highly collaborative culture. Able to facilitate a meeting by providing an agenda, keeping the conversation on track, and identifying next steps for attendees. 3. Strong analytical skills with an ability to parse multiple data points within your project area and find the proper context for decision making. 4. Proficiency in how to implement and leverage test automation with a preference of those falling within our current technology stacks: Selenium, Playwright, JUnit, Java, Scala, Postman API. 5. Ability to manage heavy context switching throughout the day. 6. Proficient in multiple software applications and third-party tools to accomplish different parts of the QA workload. For example, applications to help with troubleshooting, debugging, logging, API/service/AWS based testing, ticket tracking, proxying network traffic, etc. 7. Have a solid understanding of the different agile SDLCs and when they should be considered.
Required Education and Experience: 1. Combination of education and relevant industry experience amounting to 7 years of experience with software testing. 2. At least 5 years as a proven QA Senior I team Lead or higher.
