Principal Software Engineer

Take an innovative educational technology organization to the next level by becoming part of our rapidly growing organization. We seek a self-driven, passionate, highly qualified Principal Software Engineer with experience in modern full-stack technologies. As a principal full-stack engineer at Curriculum Associates, you will be a key member of a high-performing team that builds AI experiences and workflows for educators and students.

The impact you’ll have:

  • You will be part of a rapidly growing Ed-Tech company and will impact educators and students with your contributions to our award-winning K-8 educational software service.

  • You will lead high-profile projects and contribute to architectural initiatives.

  • You will collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders, including Product and QA, translating product requirements into technical solutions.

  • You will design, develop, and deliver innovative solutions that help educators and students.

  • You will work closely with your development team members and product owners to refine requirements and deliver solutions.

  • You will partner with cross-functional peers on other teams to design and deliver solutions.

Who we’re looking for:

  • Strong sense of ownership over problems and solutions.

  • Demonstrated experience as a team leader, educating, mentoring, and supporting other members of your team to deliver large scale initiatives.

  • Proven verbal, written, and presentation skills to document, train, and mentor.

  • Hands-on approach to deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of microservices.

  • Experience with Python and AWS services.

  • Experience with modern Typescript, React, Redux, and frontend build tools.

  • Commitment to producing clear, maintainable, and testable code.

  • Self-driven exposure to designing, developing, or orchestrating intelligent systems using LLMs, agent-based architectures, or other automation frameworks.

We’d also love to see, though not required:

  • Knowledge of RAG concepts like retrieval strategies, ranking algorithms, and building knowledge bases.

  • Experience with agentic frameworks (e.g., LangChain, Strands, VoltAgent, etc.).

  • Experience with agent evaluation and evaluation metrics.

  • Experience with Java and Spring Boot.

  • Data design and data engineering.

  • BE/ Btech with 10 + years of experience with SW architectural engineering

  • Educational or Ed-Tech background.
