Mon Ami builds modern technology for the growing sector of aging and disability services. We’re a women-founded, mission-driven startup tackling the $100B+ social services market to enable the delivery of life-sustaining services for older adults and people with disabilities.

Our customers are large public agencies (think state departments on aging, or state departments of health) across the country who coordinate complex networks of care, but who are currently wasting 60% of their time on administrative paperwork that can be digitized and automated. Mon Ami’s cloud-based solutions allow them to streamline workflow, increase capacity to serve more people, and track outcomes. About the Role

As a Senior Engineer at Mon Ami, you will be responsible for designing, building, testing, and maintaining the core software that our customers rely on. The main expectations are:

  1. Experienced coding skill set: Able to take high command of a defined area of a codebase. Experience with our tech stack (Ruby on Rails, Bootstrap, Stimulus, Postgres) or possibly a similar framework such as Django.
  2. Develop people: Support the work of a team of 1-3 junior engineers and work closely with product managers to complete projects and develop junior talent
  3. Startup agility & initiative: You’re part of a small, scrappy startup team that punches above its weight. This means getting stuff done, figuring things out, marshaling resources to achieve your goals.

About You

  • You have have 3-5+ years of experience, having excelled in your role as a mid-level engineer in a fast-growing technology company
  • Love exploring creative and innovative approaches to problem solving, including evaluation and incorporating third party software and APIs.
  • Have solid experience or beyond with most of the following tools: RoR, Stimulus, (JavaScript), Bootstrap, CSS3, Hotwire/Turbo, RSpec, View Components, SQL (Postgres), Git, SQL reporting tools.
  • Have a track record of applying excellent engineering practices including: refactoring, careful data design, and testing (we have a 1.4:1 test to code ratio).
  • Ideally have experience with Terraform, AWS and/or Google Cloud.
  • Familiar and comfortable with Agile methodologies.
  • Ideally have experience with building products with PHI in a HIPAA environment.
  • Ideally have experience with multi-tenant SaaS products.
  • AI Dev tool Fluency: Must have strong experience using development tools like Claude Code, Codex, or similar - and must have enough familiarity with various models to know when these systems would be useful. We currently see AI as a force multiplier on already strong development skills and practices.
