Position Overview:
This role requires a seasoned cloud computing expert to lead the design, implementation, and management of AWS infrastructure. The Senior AWS Cloud Engineer will architect, optimize, and secure cloud solutions, while mentoring the team and driving cloud initiatives forward.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and optimize complex cloud architectures across multiple cloud platforms, with a primary focus on AWS but also including Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
- Lead multi-cloud migration initiatives and drive cloud adoption, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security across all platforms.
- Oversee the provisioning, configuration, and management of cloud resources.
- Implement automation to improve efficiency, reliability, and consistency in infrastructure management using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, GitLab, etc.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools using Python and Bash to streamline the provisioning, configuration, and management of multi-cloud resources.
- Design, deploy, and manage scalable and secure AWS network architectures, including VPCs, subnets, route tables, NAT gateways, and security groups.
- Develop and enforce cloud security standards, ensuring that all cloud environments comply with industry regulations and organizational policies.
- Implement robust security measures such as IAM rules, network ACLs, SD-WAN, SASE, security groups, AWS WAF, and Cloud Front.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and mitigate potential risks, ensuring a secure cloud environment.
- Foster a DevOps culture within the organization, promoting collaboration between development and operations teams.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines to streamline the deployment process, reducing time to market.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management using tools like Terraform, Ansible, Arti-factory, GitLab.
- Analyze cloud spending patterns, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement cost-reduction strategies.
- Continuously monitor and optimize the performance of cloud resources to achieve maximum efficiency at minimal cost.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, Security, and Development, to achieve business objectives and support cloud-based applications and services.
- Configure and manage networking services such as AWS ELB, AWS Transit Gateway, Azure Load Balancer, GCP Cloud Load Balancing, OCI Load Balancer, as well as Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, Interconnect, and Fast Connect for secure and efficient cloud-to-cloud and on-premises connections.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and maintain optimal performance across cloud networks.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts for network deployment and management using Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
- Work with the business on cloud solutions and buildouts.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, helping them develop their skills and advance in their careers.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for AWS network issues
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field. Or relevant experience.
- 7+ years of experience in cloud computing with a focus on AWS.

AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional)
- Azure, GCP, OCI and other certifications are a bonus

Deep understanding of AWS services, architectures, and best practices.

Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash)

Experience in the use of infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Experience in automating cloud infrastructure and processes to improve efficiency and reliability
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Physical Demands:
- May work various shifts as needed; may be requested to travel to different locations.
- Lifting up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds.
- Able to walk, stand, crouch, bench, kneel, lift, carry and reach as needed in large and tight spaces.
- Good eye/hand coordination and ability to identify color variations, depth perceptions and close or distance visual items.
- Manual dexterity with occasional repetitive finger motion.
Environmental Demands:
- Ability to work in manufacturing environment with extreme heat and cold conditions.
- Wear protective clothing or respiratory protective equipment.
- Works with irritant chemicals, gases, etc.
