A day in this role

  • Start with a digital worklist, then dive into diagnosing and repairing heavy vehicles—covering steering, electrical, cooling, lubrication, brakes, drivetrains, suspensions, power steering units, clutches, transmissions, fuel/temperature/pressure controls, and engine adjustments or rebuilds.
  • Confirm the fix with a thorough test drive.
  • For major work, arrange inspections and obtain approvals before releasing any vehicle.
  • Keep your bay spotless, safe, and compliant with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Note any additional maintenance opportunities, including work requiring a higher-certified tech.
  • Log your time, parts, and repair actions with precision.
  • Tackle road calls and complete on-the-road repairs when dispatched.
  • Immediately notify the Lead Technician about unsafe practices, conditions, or vehicle abuse.

What makes you successful

  • 4–5 years maintaining and repairing medium/heavy truck fleets.
  • Expert-level diagnostics with strong electrical and A/C capabilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of major systems and diesel equipment.
  • Comfort working across diesel and gasoline platforms in a fleet setting.
  • Own the recommended minimum hand tools for a Diesel Technician.
  • Clear judgment and confident decision-making.
  • Valid state driver’s license (CDL preferred).
  • ASEs are welcome but not required.
