Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Product Designer with a strong background in designing native web applications. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating intuitive, user-friendly designs that enhance the clinical trial experience for researchers, participants, and administrators. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products that meet user needs and regulatory requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Product Design

  • Lead the design of native web applications tailored for the clinical trials sector.
  • Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups that effectively communicate design concepts.
  • Create and maintain design systems to ensure consistency across all products.
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals, and experience.

User Research

  • Conduct user research to understand the needs, behaviors, and pain points of clinical trial stakeholders.
  • Plan and execute usability testing sessions, analyze findings, and translate them into actionable design improvements.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitive products, and emerging technologies to inform design strategies.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (product, engineering, QA, SMEs) to ensure the successful implementation of designs.
  • Present and defend design decisions to stakeholders based on user research and best practices.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement within the design and product teams.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure all designs comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards specific to clinical trials.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address any design-related compliance issues.

Education and Years of Experience:

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in user-centered design and user research
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in product design, with at least 3 years focusing on native mobile applications
  • Formal education in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field is preferred
  • Experience in the clinical trials or healthcare industry is preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • 15% travel required for in-person team meetings, company meetings and customer/user meetings

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; experience working closely with developers.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
