About the Role

Remedium Bio is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate to join our team in Boston, with a focus on in vivo studies involving small animals, particularly mice and rats.

This role is well suited for a recent graduate or an individual with several years of animal research experience who is comfortable working in a vivarium environment and performing hands-on in vivo procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform in vivo procedures involving mice and rats in accordance with approved study protocols.
  • Administer study materials through subcutaneous, intraperitoneal, and tail-vein injection.
  • Perform blood collection and other routine in vivo procedures.
  • Conduct metabolic testing, including glucose tolerance tests (GTT) and insulin tolerance tests (ITT).
  • Perform necropsies and collect and process tissues for downstream analysis.
  • Conduct body-composition measurements using appropriate instrumentation and methods.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed experimental records.
  • Organize, analyze, and interpret experimental data and contribute to internal reports and external publications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional research teams supporting ongoing studies.
  • Maintain compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements governing animal care and use.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize in vivo methods and contribute to IACUC protocols and amendments.
  • Support management of in vivo study materials, study trackers, inventories, and experimental data.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Animal Science, Biotechnology, or a related scientific discipline.
  • 0–3 years of hands-on experience working with mice or rats in a vivarium environment.
  • Experience with subcutaneous, intraperitoneal, and tail-vein injections.
  • Experience with blood collection.
  • Experience performing necropsies and tissue collection.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to high ethical standards in animal research.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Animal Science, Veterinary Science, or a related discipline.
  • 2–4 years of hands-on laboratory experience working with mice and rats in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical environment.
  • Experience conducting GTT and ITT studies.
  • Experience with body-composition analysis.
  • Experience with hyperglycemic or hypoglycemic clamp studies.
  • Hands-on experience with IVIS imaging, micro-CT imaging, and multiple routes of drug administration.
  • Experience with histology and immunohistochemistry.
