The Role

As a Manager of Secondary Marketing within the Capital Markets team, you will be responsible for the management and execution of the Secondary Marketing function, reporting to the VP Capital Markets with a functional line to the Director of Lock Desk & Pricing. The Manager will work both with the line of business to ensure the company has adequate funding products to support the mortgage business, and with investors to develop loan programs that provide a competitive edge. On a day to day basis you will oversee all Secondary Marketing activity and give direction to the Secondary Marketing Analyst when needed.

What You’ll Do

As Secondary Marketing Manager you will oversee or perform the day to day responsibilities of a secondary desk in conjunction with development of other loan funding programs, including:

  • Execution of secondary market sales to investors.

  • Development of new investor relationships and programs.

  • Renewal, update, and opening of accounts with investors/aggregators.

  • Monitoring of secondary market conditions, and investor-related systems and resolution of compliance and technology issues as necessary.

  • Staying current of trends in mortgage lending and market factors affecting mortgage origination and secondary market sales.

  • Supporting the mortgage pricing strategy and providing market information to leadership for budgeting, forecasting, and other strategic planning.

  • Maintaining current knowledge and compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations and all established Bank policies and procedures, including internal audit controls related to department operations

  • Working independently, accurately, and efficiently to resolve any issues.

  • Working closely with the Head of Mortgage and Director of Lock Desk & Pricing and all related internal and external departments, groups, and vendors.

  • Examining MSR values quarterly.

  • Compiling and organizing monthly and ad hoc reports as requested.

  • Performing other duties as assigned.

  • Being a close internal partner to the FP&A, Accounting, Treasury, Corporate Investor Relations, Legal and Line of Business teams.

What You'll Need

  • Interest in the FinTech industry and/or Banking, Finance, and Accounting

  • Bachelor’s or Master's/MBA degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field

  • At least 5 years experience operating in a mortgage capital markets, secondary marketing, or lock desk role

  • Understanding of financial industry, regulatory landscape and debt capital market/ structured finance market

  • Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail

  • Ability to be a role model and team player

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Comfortable with G-suite and/or Microsoft Office (specifically Excel and Google Sheets) and working with large data sets. Knowledge of MS Excel VBA macros preferred.

  • Mission driven, intellectually curious, goal oriented
