About the Job

SAP Taulia is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Observability engineer in the Network Operations Center team. As a member of the team you will work with cutting edge technology to scale our platform worldwide, work cross-functionally with other engineering teams, enhance stability of production services, and incident management processes.

In this role, you will report to the Manager Network Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the NOC Manager on a weekly basis, discussing progress, challenges and opportunities.
  • Work on assigned projects on a quarterly or bi-yearly basis for about 20% of your time.
  • Stay up to date on all changes in upper and lower environments to support them effectively.
  • Build and maintain up to date documentation.
  • Learn and implement new technologies as the team scales.
  • Achieve intermediate-level experience with relevant monitoring tools used by Taulia.
  • Create and update monitors/synthetics of basic complexity.
  • Maintain observability systems.
  • Participate in 24/7 Production Support rotation schedule as per team’s policies (3 by 3 days).
  • Participate in occasional off-hours duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience required

  • Technical Skills and Experience:
    • 1+ years in a SaaS-based production environment, preferably in a NOC or SRE-adjacent role.
    • Observability and Monitoring: Good / Intermediate proficiency with the “Three Pillars” (Logs, Metrics, Traces). Hands-on experience with tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, New Relic, Splunk, or ELK.
    • Incident Response: Good / Advanced understanding of Incident Management frameworks. Open to navigating high-pressure outages and utilizing tools like PagerDuty/VictorOps and Jira.
    • Cloud Infrastructure: Fundamental knowledge of AWS, GCP, or Azure (understanding regions, zones, and basic compute/storage services).
    • Ability to build intuitive dashboards and configure actionable alerts with minimal supervision.
    • Proven track record of creating and maintaining clear SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) in Confluence or similar wikis.
  • Problem Solving and Collaboration
    • Ability to perform root-cause analysis on complex issues and apply creative solutions to non-routine problems.
    • Experience working in a 24/7 environment, coordinating across multiple time zones and cross-functional teams (SRE, Dev, Security) to resolve critical issues.
    • Understanding of the full observability lifecycle—from instrumenting applications to alerting and post-mortem reporting.
  • Preferred Qualifications (Good to Have):
    • Basic understanding of IAM, Security Groups/Firewalls, and compliance frameworks like SOC2.
    • Familiarity with Git (version control) and basic exposure to CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, ArgoCD, or GitHub Actions).
