Overview:

As a member of the fermentation operations team, you will play a crucial role in weekly experimental setup and execution for growing methanotrophic consortia in fermentors. This role includes fermentor setup and break-down, sampling/data entry, run monitoring and adjusting according to real time inputs, providing recommendations on equipment and mentoring junior personnel.

Attention to detail and collaboration is necessary to be successful in this role.

This position has an alternate schedule of 2pm - 10pm, M-F.

Job Duties

Cradle-to-grave fermentation workflow
Media formulation/development
Equipment management & maintenance
Data analysis and presenting observations and results in appropriate meetings

Qualifications

BS in Engineering or other scientific discipline and at least 5 years of direct fermentation experience
Prior industrial experience working with gas feedstock is highly desired
Aseptic techniques and ability to safely handle chemicals
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Safety oriented mindset
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication and organizational skills

Education & Experience

BS in Engineering, Biology, Bioengineering, or some other related scientific discipline.
- 5+ years of direct, hands-on experience with fermentation

The base salary range for this full-time position is $80-$105k plus equity and benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and location.
